Rota Support Coordinator

Hours of work: 22 Hours & 30 minutes per week- This is a fixed Term, Time frame TBC

Are you a highly organised and proactive individual with a passion for making a difference? Autism Together is seeking a dedicated Rota Support Coordinator to join our central team. In this vital role, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our Supported Living and Residential services are always staffed to provide the highest quality of care for the people we support.

Your primary responsibility will be the efficient scheduling and coordination of cover for staff absences, utilising our team of relief workers and existing employees, and engaging agency staff when necessary. You will be instrumental in managing staff availability, publishing shifts, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading charity dedicated to supporting brighter futures for autistic people.

Key duties include:

  • Maintaining accurate records on our computerised staffing system, including rotas and overtime.

  • Liaising with managers to understand staffing needs and accommodate last-minute changes.

  • Managing agency cost control through invoice checking and authorisation.

  • Serving as a key point of contact for staff regarding rota-related inquiries.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation like the Working Time Directive

  • To support the Team leader in identifying permanent placements of peripatetic workers.

  •    To work the designated hours as necessary to include weekend working 

  • To keep accurate records on the computerised staffing system – including rotas, relief worker hours and additional overtime hours.

  • To ensure that all agency invoices are checked and accurate with the system before paying following an hour’s authorisation process.

Desired criteria

  • Management Qualifications (willing to work towards QCF Level 3 or equivalent in Leadership and Management)
  • Qualifications in Health and Social Care Level 3 (willing to work towards QCF, NVQ)
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of people on the autism spectrum
  • Experience in Staff and Performance Management
  • Experience in Staffing deployment (Relief, agency and overtime)
  • Experience of working with people with autism in a care or vocational setting
  • Experience of using Quality Assurance systems
  • Ability to Drive/ Access to car
