Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel bar, ensuring a seamless and welcoming guest experience.
Oversee all food and beverage service within the bar area, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained.
Coordinate and manage beverage service for all ballroom functions, including weddings, conferences, corporate events, and banquets.
Ensure efficient staffing and operational planning to meet business demands.
Monitor service quality, guest satisfaction, and departmental performance.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety throughout all bar service areas.
Covering Duty Manager shifts.
Team Leadership
Lead, supervise, train, and motivate a team of up to 30 bar and beverage service staff.
Conduct regular team briefings and ensure effective communication across all shifts.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members.
Foster a positive working environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest satisfaction.
Develop colleagues through coaching and ongoing training initiatives.
Financial Management
Manage beverage cost controls, stock levels, and departmental budgets.
Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to maximise revenue opportunities.
Conduct regular stock takes and investigate variances.
Ensure accurate cash handling procedures and compliance with hotel policies.
Compliance and Standards
Ensure compliance with all food safety, licensing, health and safety, and responsible serving regulations.
Maintain excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
Ensure all operating procedures are followed consistently.
Manage and minimise risks relating to service delivery and guest safety.
Guest Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure all guest feedback is addressed promptly and professionally.
Build positive relationships with guests, clients, and function organisers.
Actively drive service excellence and a culture of hospitality throughout the team.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Previous experience in a Bar Manager or Senior Food & Beverage supervisory role.
- Strong leadership experience managing large teams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience managing beverage operations for events and functions.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Knowledge of stock control, cost management, and budgeting is essential.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Desired criteria
- Experience within a hotel environment.
- Food Safety and Manual Handling certifications.
- Knowledge of micros systems and stock management software.
- Professional qualification in Hospitality Management.
