Essential Requirements
To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:
At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.• PMVA training• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).
Desirable Qualifications
• First Aid training or equivalent.
About this role
Your Responsibilities as a Community Support Worker
As a Support Worker specialising in learning disabilities and complex needs, your key duties will include:
• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.

Required criteria
- Confidence in using digital care planning systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient and professional attitude.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desired criteria
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children).
- Current First Aid training.
