Financial Controller - Ballykelly
Reporting to the Finance Director, as part of our continued expansion, this newly created position will hold responsibility for the integrity of the company’s financial reporting, maintaining a robust financial control environment and delivering timely, accurate financial information to support operational and strategic objectives.
The role will oversee and support the day-to-day finance function, working alongside a small finance team and act as a key business partner to the wider leadership team, particularly across Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Control
Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely production of management accounts.
Maintain a strong internal control framework across all financial processes.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and reviewed monthly.
Manage cash flow reporting and working capital performance.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and corporate policies.
Maintain accurate fixed asset and inventory accounting records.
Financial Reporting
Produce monthly management accounts, KPI reporting and board packs.
Deliver insightful variance analysis against budget and forecast.
Support the Finance Director with reporting to senior management and shareholders.
Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate the annual external audit.
Manage all VAT, corporation tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
Improve working capital performance
Manufacturing Finance
Act as a finance business partner to Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations teams
Oversee standard costing and product costing methodologies.
Analyse manufacturing variances including labour, material and overhead absorption.
Monitor inventory valuation (slow moving, accuracy) and stock controls.
Challenge operational performance and drive accountability for cost improvement initiatives.
Develop business cases and ROI analyses for strategic investments
Support capital expenditure planning and investment appraisal
Project cost controlling
Develop and maintain project profitability reporting.
Monitor project costs, revenues, margins and cash generation throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with Project Managers to identify risks and opportunities impacting project profitability.
Support project bidding and post-project profitability reviews.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Coordinate the annual budget process across all departments.
Prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections.
Monitor financial performance against budget.
Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business planning.
Leadership
Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
Establish clear objectives and performance standards.
Promote continuous improvement within the finance function.
Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and financial governance.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
Drive improvements in financial reporting and control processes.
Maximise the effectiveness of ERP and financial reporting systems.
Support automation and digitalisation initiatives.
Improve data quality and reporting capabilities across the business.
The Person:
Essential Qualifications
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
Essential Experience
Significant experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position.
Background within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.
Experience managing finance teams.
Strong knowledge of management accounting and statutory reporting (IFRS)
Experience with inventory accounting and standard costing.
Proven experience of external audit management.
Experience using integrated ERP systems.
Desirable Experience
Exposure to the data centre, engineering or technology sectors.
Knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
Experience leading ERP implementation or finance transformation projects.
