Night Receptionist – 36 Hours per WeekHeanor Park Care Home

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Receptionist to join the team at Heanor Park Care Home, part of Ashmere Derbyshire Ltd.

Heanor Park is a modern 60 bed care home providing high-quality residential, dementia and has its own deaf household. Located in the heart of Heanor, the home offers a welcoming and supportive environment for both residents and staff.

About this role

As our Night Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact during the night, ensuring the home remains secure, welcoming and well-organised. You will provide administrative support where required, respond to telephone enquiries, and assist the clinical and management teams with a range of administrative duties.

This is a 36 hour per week position, working night shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays where required. Flexibility is essential.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming and assisting any visitors and healthcare professionals attending the home during the night.

  • Answering and directing telephone calls professionally and efficiently.

  • Ensuring the security of the building, including monitoring the fire panel and following emergency procedures where necessary.

  • Monitoring residents through the home's acoustic monitoring system, responding promptly to alerts and escalating concerns to the nursing and care teams in line with company procedures to help maintain resident safety and wellbeing throughout the night.

  • Providing general administrative support to the Home Management Team.

  • Completing documentation accurately, including minute taking and maintaining records where required.

  • Liaising with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals in a professional and compassionate manner.

  • Responding to enquiries about the home and providing excellent customer service at all times.

  • Supporting the smooth running of the home throughout the night and assisting the wider team where appropriate.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills, previous customer service or reception experience, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy care home environment. Experience within a healthcare setting would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Desired criteria

  • Knowledge of fire safety procedures and emergency evacuation protocols.
  • Knowledge of electronic care systems or acoustic monitoring technology.
  • Previous experience working within a care home, healthcare or nursing environment.
