About this role

About the Role

This role is for Night duty for 36 hours per week.  Shifts will mainly be from 7:30pm - 8am but some half shifts may be required.

Oakirdge Care Home, located on the Magheraknock Road, Ballynahinch, caters for up to 65 residents requiring frail elderly care.

 

As a Registered General Nurse, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care and support to our residents. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that each person receives respectful, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and well-being.

 

You will provide compassionate and professional support, ensuring residents physical, emotional and social needs are met while assisting with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, meals and social engagement. You will administer medication safely, create and maintain individualised care plans, conduct risk assessments and monitor residents’ health, recording observations with accuracy and confidentiality. Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families and colleagues, you will foster a warm and welcoming environment. Additionally, you will support and mentor care staff, contributing to a positive workplace culture where inclusivity, respect and teamwork are valued.

  • Previous experience in a similar role or work with a similar client group.

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

  • Medical fitness to carry out physical requirements of the role.

Additional Information

Interviews may take place via video call.

 

This role involves substantial access to vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be offered the position subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI.  Regulated posts will also require a check of the adult barred list.
