Payroll Administrator
Due to growth CTS is seeking to employ a Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. The successful candidate will administer payroll for by weekly and monthly paid staff, ensuring deadlines are met and employer reports are prepared and submitted in time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience and further develop their career.
About this role
Calculating Wages and Salaries
Calculating pay raises
Resolving issues employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters
Ensuring that staff are paid on time and receive the correct payments
Completing and processing returns to HMRC, pension providers and other statutory bodies.
Carry out month and year end processes essential for statutory and other returns.
Deal with enquiries from staff and external contacts and agencies, by telephone or by email
Prepare budgetary information from the payroll as required by the Finance Director and provide support to the Company Accountant during the annual budgeting process.
In conjunction with the Company Accountant, plan the best way to implement legislative changes and ensure that standard procedures are developed to support any such changes.
Participate in any projects to develop the payroll processes and database, taking a lead on identifying improvements

What you will need
Required criteria
- Experienced working to tight deadlines
- Experienced in working to high levels of accuracy and detail with data input
- I.T Proficient with demonstrable use of Excel
- Educated to GCSE with a minimum grade C in both Math and English
- Experienced in working within a payroll department
- Knowledge of UK payroll legislation
- Be capable of working on own initiative
- Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Have a good timekeeping and attendance record
- Be a good team player
- Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal direction
- Have ability to work to deadlines
- Have ability to take on new skills
- Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques
