Quarry Location Manager
Applications are invited for a number of Quarry Location Manager positions across a number of regions i.e. Munster, Leinster & Connacht. The successful candidates will report to the Regional Operations Manager.
Roadstone is the leading provider of building materials to the construction sector in Ireland. We produce and supply a wide range of products including aggregates, concrete, blacktop, blocks, paving and agricultural lime to our valued customers nationwide. Roadstone is a part of CRH plc.
About the role
The candidate should ideally possess:
A relevant academic background with 5+ years’ experience in quarrying industry.
A practical understanding of quarry operations.
Excellent analytical ability organised, and results driven.
Proactive approach to safety management.
Proven people management skills and leadership qualities.
An ability to influence at all levels to achieve the best outcome for the organisation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The candidate will have the following specific responsibilities:
Ensure Health & Safety policies/procedures are implemented in compliance with legal and statutory requirements and with relevant company policies, while driving continuous improvements in the Health & Safety culture.
Ensure compliance with operating requirements in accordance with EPA, Local Authority and Company policies.
Manage the location as a successful business unit.
Deliver Operational Excellence against agreed key performance indicators.
Propose, prepare, and implement any capital expenditure projects which are approved.
Maintain relations with near neighbours, ensuring that the Company and Group image is maintained and enhanced.
Effectively manage all members of the quarry team in line with HR best practice and the established company union agreements and any I.R. issues.
Propose suitable learning opportunities and ensure that approved training programmes are carried out.
Preparation and implementation of the quarry development plans.
Manage quarry blasting – blast design, blast monitoring etc.
Active management of mobile plant efficiency using daily and weekly metrics
Preparation of planning applications. Liaise with planning consultants and prepare Environmental Impact Statements.
Production of the annual quarry budget and management of quarry costs
Management of quarry sub-contractors
Identify opportunities to improve and develop the quarry and duly deliver the company sustainability targets.
Increase co-operation with other CRH companies and incorporate their “Best Practices”
Work closely with other production centres, the quality control team and the commercial team in Roadstone.
