We are looking for a Transport Planner that is energised and passionate about delivering proactive planning to help support the Transport Manager in achieving an efficient and quality delivery service to customers in all regions.

About the role

Key Responsibilities: • Ensure the receipt of sales orders. • Plan load activity based on priorities (orders, location, weight). • Schedule deliveries based on sales orders. • Plan each job in in the most efficient and viable way possible, which minimizes empty running and maximizes revenue. • Liaise with and support the Transport Manger and the greater scheduling team in their duties. • Report and deal with issues prior to them impacting on customer service. • Manage the activities of drivers to ensure delivery times are achieved. • Work closely with the Customer Relationship Team and Sales Department to ensure efficient communication of sales orders and customer focused approach. • Work closely with Production and Loading Departments to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of product. • Manage resolution of customer delivery enquiries. • Comply with Driver regulations at all times. • Build long lasting relationships with our regular and repeat purchasing customers. • Communicate with our customers via phone calls, emails, video calls or WhatsApp. • Ensure all communication with customers is professional and of a high standard all of the time. • Have a ‘going the extra mile’ attitude for customers and ensure they can contact you beyond the agreed hours of work if required. • Follow the company’s internal standards as agreed. • Ensure you build great relationships with your team and be an important team player. • Work closely with our scheduling team to meet our ongoing loading and on-time delivery targets. • Maximise vehicle space and weight capacity on every occasion. • Assist team by taking orders and telephone calls. • Any other duties as required within the Transport and head office environment

What you will need

Required criteria

  • 5 GCSE’s including English & Maths A – C
  • A-levels
  • 2 years’ experience working in a demanding and high pressured transport office.
  • Experience in Irish Sea & Regional deliveries.
  • Working experience in interacting and managing delivery drivers.
  • Experience in the use of planning software
  • Experience in scheduling

Desired criteria

  • Degree Qualified.
  • Experience in customer care and complaint handling.
  • Previous order entry experience.
  • Knowledge of graphic design packages
  • Full and clean driving license
