HR Generalist
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to work closely with the finance department preparing payroll monthly, while managing the time & attendance system and general daily HR related matters.
About the role
Responsibilities:
• Have a very hands-on approach to ensure all areas of the HR function are being met; effectively manage the company HR system Softworks.
• Collate monthly information for payroll using Microsoft Excel maintain accuracy with data entry
• Champion absenteeism and timekeeping including assisting with return to work and absence review meetings; work with management in dealing with absence and timekeeping issues
• Run weekly and monthly HR reports including time and attendance for payroll
• Produce HR metrics and analytics on a weekly and monthly basis
• Administration maintenance of soft and hard copy paperwork, including employee files and ensuring the correct documentation is in file and signed off
• Assist in the day to day running across the group (9 site locations ) HR department to include right to work checks, contracts, change to terms, maternity / paternity leave, exit interview, sickness and leaver processing, on and off-boarding processes.
• Manage the HR helpdesk, responding and resolving queries
• File auditing
• Archive leavers files on relevant systems and informing the relevant departments
• GDPR compliance
• Induction of new staff
• Assist in inventory control for company uniforms, working closely with Health & Safety department
• Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture
• Ensure all issues relating to HR are kept strictly confidential

What you will need
Required criteria
- A minimum of two years’ HR related experience
- Extensive experience of payroll
- Experience of managing a time and attendance system, Softworks system would be desirable
- Excellent IT skills-experience of using a variety of computer software
- Strong competency skills in problem solving, leadership, communication, teamwork, results orientation, planning and organising
Desired criteria
- CIPD Qualified or Part Qualified or working towards
- Project management of a HR system upgrade
