IT Support Engineer
The successful candidate will support the IT team with the implementation and delivery of IT projects, while also supporting the day to day operations of the IT team.
About the role
- Provide Technical Support for Windows, Microsoft Office, SQL Server, Exchange Server and other computer software installations including customers' software products.
- System administrator, responsible for security infrastructure (firewall, VPN, appliances, anti-virus, web usage etc).
- Monitor and administer Backup and Disaster Recovery provision.
- Maintain network infrastructure, e.g., switches, servers, routers.
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and software.
- To be the first point of contact for our customers requiring technical support and implementation assistance.
- Resolve customer support tickets raised through our helpdesk and escalate when required.
- Support internal ERP and WMS solutions
- Document processes in line with ITIL and best practice
- Partake in other related projects as deemed necessary by management.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Full driving licence
- Experience in the following technologies: Windows Server, Linux, VMware, ESX/EMC, Avaya, IP500, SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, MS Windows and Office desktop applications
- Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.
- Capable to develop clear and up to date procedural documentation.
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- 4 years' experience in an IT Support role
- Educated to A- Level or equivalent
Desired criteria
- Educated to HND or Degree level or equivalent
- Experience in EPOS an advantage but not essential
- Business central experience
