About the role

Job Title: Head Cook

Reporting: Deputy Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager

 Basic Function:

The Head Cook is responsible for managing team members within the Kitchen and ensuring that wholesome and nutritious meals are delivered following a structured menu plan and allowing for individual dietary needs/choice to be catered for.

 Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum three years experience in a similar role

  • Food Hygiene & COSHH training

  • Good General Health (medically fit)

  • Must have a good command of written and spoken English

  • Ability to communicate with the elderly 

  • Ability to work set hours, flexible to meet the needs of the organisation

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous management experience
