Data Quality Manager - Remote - Full Time
NCTech has established itself as a market leader in the provision of 360° street level imagery and 3D data to Big Tech customers. The company operates globally and is on a rapid growth trajectory, serving the likes of the Immersive Media and Geographic Information System markets. We collect and process petabytes of data across multiple cloud platforms all across the globe.
About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Data Quality Manager to join a dynamic and rapidly-growing geospatial data company based in Edinburgh. With a variety of mobile mapping capture projects to complete in widespread global locations, we’re looking for individuals who can help us improve the quality of the data and information assets we rely on and use. You will lead the definition of quality within the data governance framework, ensuring all data, information assets used to underpin decision-making across the wider business and externally - are reliable, consistent, accurate and aligned with the relevant data quality standards. This job will give you the opportunity to work with major international tech companies and shape the future of our data products at a hugely exciting time.
Responsibilities and Skills Responsibilities
● Managing data quality associated with geospatial data
● Define data quality objectives as part of the data governance strategy
● Drive practical, collaborative engagement with data owners so that data quality objectives can be understood in terms of value, and successfully adopted into new ways of working
● Identify relevant data quality standards, and objectively monitor progress against them - ensuring consistency and integrity across data and information assets
● Evaluate and implement tools to support data quality management across the lifecycle (including being hands-on with data cleansing and data validation processes)
● Share insights and improvement requirements, so that they can be prioritised as part of an agile development and release process
Skills
● Deep technical proficiency and experience of working with data quality tools and/or frameworks (e.g Collibra, DAMA-DMBOK) ● Thorough understanding of data governance
● Regulatory knowledge - esp. Government, Infrastructure & Utilities domains
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent communication skills
● Well organised with a structured approach to work
● Excellent prioritisation, time management and focus on delivery of key objectives
Bonus points if you have:
● Experience sourcing and maintaining data assets
● Data management experience
● Aptitude for making technical work accessible and relevant to non-technical audiences
● A passion for working in the geospatial industry
