Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a proactive and organised Production Line Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our production line based at our Cromford Road facility in Langley Mill. This role is central to ensuring smooth operations across all production areas, including the steel shop, panel shop, joinery, and M&E departments. Working closely with the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for meeting weekly production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily running of the production line, ensuring all areas work cohesively.

  • Work alongside the Production Manager to achieve weekly production targets.

  • Supervise and support the team leaders, who will report directly to the Production Line Supervisor.

  • Take overall responsibility for health and safety on the production line, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures reporting directly to the SHEQ Manager.

  • Deliver clear and confident RAMS briefings and toolbox talks to production teams.

  • Ensure production line logistics are well planned to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.

  • Take responsibility for overall quality control on the line and address any reported non-conformances.

  • Promote and enforce company policies consistently within the team.

  • Encourage customer-focused practices across all operations.

  • Support sustainable practices by managing waste and promoting recycling initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

  • Broad understanding of modular building manufacturing, with good knowledge of steel shop, basic timber framing, joinery, and M&E processes.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to enforce policies and lead by example.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Health & Safety qualification: IOSH Managing Safely (or above) is essential.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate logistics to ensure efficient line flow.

  • Experience in delivering clear safety briefings and toolbox talks.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) card.

  • Forklift licence.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30

  • Friday: 07:30 – 12:30

  • Standard day shifts.

  • Overtime regularly available.
