Job Summary:

This role is ideal for someone who has a keen interest in Health and Safety. With full training provided for the successful person, this is a great opportunity to develop a career in Compliance.

You will enjoy playing a key role in the Compliance team helping to ensure that Tobermore remains compliant with legislative and regulatory Health and Safety requirements to include staff training and inspections.

About the role

You will also periodically review the standards to ensure compliance is always adhered to.  Job duties include but are not limited to:

·Ensure Tobermore is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements, conduct training with staff to make sure they are aware of regulations and procedures and provide guidance.

·Provide full Forklift training and refresher Training to all Tobermore production staff including Lough Fea and Paving centres.

·Carry out slip skid testing and testing lab cover.

·Carry out new employee Induction Training in terms of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality.

·Ensure all contractors coming on Tobermore site receive relevant Health and Safety information and Induction Training.

·Inspections: inspect the workplace for potential hazards, identify potential hazards, assess the risks and report potential hazards.

·Carry out Risk Assessments and Safety Audits.

·Investigate non-conformances/incidents and keep records of these.

·Carry out slip skid testing and report results to Compliance Manager

·Conduct drills, such as fire drills, to ensure equipment is properly functioning and staff are aware of what to do in an emergency.

·Arrange for testing of Fire Fighting equipment to receive regular maintenance.

·Ensure Alarm system for Production Office and Main office is maintained and properly serviced.

·Assist the Compliance Manager to regularly review, revise and update the health and safety policy.

·Carry out awareness training when required.

·Carry out Hazard training for all plants.

·Manage environmental issues on site.

·Organise occupational Health training e.g. lung testing, hearing etc, use an monitor results via risk assessments.

·Recording abstraction information and submitting license to NIEA.

·Responsibility for waste management and ensuring all waste has records of removal from site.

·Management of Tobermores IMS system.

·Assist with development of Health Safety and Environmental and Quality objectives for the year ahead.

·Assist with testing and quality requirements in the testing lab.

·Order and manage ordering of labels for bales of products

What you will need

Required criteria

  • 5 GCSE’s including English & Maths A – C.
  • Strong administration experience.
  • Forklift Driving experience
  • Strong MS Office experience.
  • Trustworthy.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
  • Very well organised person.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal Skills.
  • Team player.

Desired criteria

  • A-levels.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH general certificate
  • Any health and safety related qualification.
  • Previous administrative experience in compliance / health and safety.
  • Induction Presentation experience
  • Background in Health and Safety
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing/ construction sector
  • Full and clean driving licence.
  • Forklift Driver Instructor Licence (Valid or Expired)
