Business Development Manager

Are you a driven business development professional with a passion for building lasting client relationships? We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives across the insurance and corporate sectors in Australia, with occasional involvement across the APAC region.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded individual who thrives on identifying new opportunities, winning business, and nurturing long-term client partnerships. While your primary focus will be on new business acquisition, you’ll also play a key role in account management to ensure ongoing client satisfaction and retention.

Skills & Experience

• Proven track record in business development, sales, or account growth within the insurance or corporate sectors.

• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

• Willingness to travel interstate and occasionally across the APAC region.

• Australian driving licence and access to own transport is desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Background in international assistance, financial services, or corporate benefits.

• Familiarity with APAC insurance market structures and trends.

About the role

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

• Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across the insurance and corporate sectors.

• Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and qualification to proposal development and closing.

• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on campaigns, tenders, and lead generation strategies.

• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand presence and generate leads.

Client Relationship & Account Management

• Serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.

• Conduct regular client meetings, including strategic reviews and performance updates.

• Oversee contract renewals and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting using Salesforce.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to inform strategy.

• Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline activity, and client feedback.

• Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client onboarding.
