We are looking for a Head Receptionist to maintain Cash handling, balancing, reconciliations and reservations. To ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests and customers.

About the role

Main tasks and duties

  • To ensure smooth operational procedures within the reception area;

  • To maintain and adhere to company's health and safety policies;

  • To greet customers with a friendly and approachable manner;

  • To maintain andoperate reception area to hotel standards;

  • To operate the reception computer and balance the cash till at the end of every shift;

  • To ensure proper operation of the switchboard, dealing with all customer and telephone enquiries;

  • To maintain all reception records and ledgers;

  • To maintain proper and accurate records of all sales, guest accounts as required;

  • Booking and reservations for meals and accommodation;

  • To provide the relevant departments with daily information i.e. bookings, resident count or any relevant changes or amendments;

  • Processing all outgoing mail;

  • To ensure all opening procedures and security are adhered to for the protection of staff and property and customers as a whole;

  • To ensure hygiene standards are maintained within reception area;

  • To ensure the hotel lobby is kept clean and tidy to hotel standards;

  • To clear glasses/cups etc that may be in the hotel lobby;

  • To promote and sell the hotel andits products with a friendly and helpful manner;

  • To greet staff with friendly and approachable manner;

  • To ensure positive customer care by all staff;

  • To deal and handle with customer complaints and requests;

  • To ensure and actively encourage staff training and development to improve performance morale;

  • To maintain high standard of personal hygiene and appearance;

  • To ensure effective communication within the reception department and peers;

  • To promote equal opportunities and cultural diversity;

  • To attend training courses as and when necessary;

  • To implement all policies and procedures as devised by management;

  • To maintain adequate stocks of all items used within reception;

  • To order, check and accept deliveries of goods and equipment as necessary;

  • To train and supervise all reception staff to the adequate level as set by management;

  • To ensure adequate cover at all times in line with hotel targets and goals;

  • To ensure that due care is taken for the health ands afety of yourself, other employees, residents.members and any other persons on the premises;

  • Report and where appropriate take action on any incident, fire. loss or damage;

  • To report all maintenance issues and take appropriate action;

  • To attend departmental meetings for monthly reports;

  • To maintain proper and accurate records of all sales, customer accounts as required;

  • To ensure all opening/closing procedures and security

  • property and customers as a whole;

  • are adhered to for the protection of staff.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance;

  • To ensure facilities hygiene standards are maintained to the hotel standard;

  • To promote and sell the hotel and its products with a friendly and helpful manner;

  • To ensure effective communication within the bar department and peers;

  • To ensure and actively encourage staff training and development to improve performance moral;

  • To train and supervise all bar staff to the adequate level as set by management;

  • To implement all policies and procedures as devised by management;
