About The Plaza Hotel
Welcome to The Plaza Hotel Dublin with 122 well-appointed ensuite bedrooms, state of the art conference facilities & excellent cuisine.
Over the last 2 years, the entire interior of the 4-star hotel has been extensively refurbished, now comprising of exciting new eateries. The hotel now offers 122 spacious, comfortable and ensuite bedrooms along with a number of large suites. Two large and naturally lit event spaces, together with 4 meeting suites allow for conferences and events of all sizes, ranging from 5-200 people.

DUTY MANAGER

Job Purpose:
The Duty Manager will be focused on consistently delivering a high quality and excellent service in keeping with the character and ethos of the hotel and will be able to fulfil the customers’ needs and expectations
Reports to: Operations Manager
Duty Manager Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· To work with the Management Team to ensure the smooth running of the hotel operation on a day to day basis.
· Ensure the efficient running of all areas whilst on duty and making provision for preparation while off duty.
· Effectively lead, motivate and communicate clearly in developing the team.
· Manage all areas within your remit to ensure positive customer experiences through the implementation of all standards and service culture.
· Maintain and develop systems, policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the business.
· Responsible for effective relationship building with customers and employees.
· Available to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekend shifts including Public Holidays.
· Responsibility for all departments. Restaurant/Snug; Front of House and any other department of the Hotel as and when required.
· To assist in all Food and Beverage Outlets across the Hotel as required.
· Responsibility whilst on shift, for all Food & Beverage areas to include planning and coordinating service, supervision and training of team members, cash handling and guest assistance.
· Be proactive and have a desire to develop standards and promote continuous improvement among employees.
· Be fully conversant on the daily business and the hotels upcoming business.
· Ensuring that each department is operating in accordance with the hotel standards and staffing levels.
· To be familiar with, adhere to and implement all areas outlined in the company guidebook.
· To be fully conversant with all areas connected to Health & Safety and Hygiene.
· Responsibility for the Health, Safety and security of all guests, team members and the Hotel facilities.
· Be courteous and professional and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service.
· Carrying out duty shifts and assisting in Reception, Accommodation and all Food and Beverage outlets when the need arises.
· To conduct operational training with employees on a regular basis.
· Attend meetings on a weekly basis and communicate information to the relevant personnel.
HEALTH & SAFETY
To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
To keep your work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box.
To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
