The Home
Braefield Nursing Home is based in the picturesque village of Connor, located between Antrim and Ballymena. Braefield is a 56 bedded Nursing Home spread over 3 units. Braefield Nursing Home is currently registered with the RQIA for 18 individuals with nursing and mental health needs, 17 individuals with physical disability requiring nursing needs and 21 individuals with dementia nursing needs. The categories of care we cater to are Mental Health Nursing, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and Dementia Nursing. The team at Braefield Nursing Home are very dedicated in providing a high standard of person-centred care.
The Role
At Healthcare Ireland we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing engaging activities and wellbeing initiatives that promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The role of Wellbeing Lead is responsible for providing a schedule of engaging pursuits that create a supportive environment where resides can thrive.
The Wellbeing Lead will manage the planning, organising and facilitation of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in our Homes along with the Wellbeing Assistant. They will work closely with the care team, families, residents, and external partners to develop and implement a wide range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents. Leading the wellbeing and activities function in the Home, is essential in our mission to provide excellent care.
About the role
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare, plan, and deliver recreational and occupational activities.
Ensure effective and timely record keeping.
Contribute to surveys, audits and clinical research projects, assisting with the collection, analysis, and presentation of data.
Observe and monitor the well-being of residents.
Supervision of staff.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

What you will need
Required criteria
- To be educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of English
- To be able to creatively plan activities to meet the needs of service users
- Previous experience related to the role
- The Right to Work in the UK
Desired criteria
- Knowledge of external educational, vocational and leisure activity providers to expand the range of activities available
- Experience gained within an nursing home environment
