Junior Intelligence Analyst - Africa
We are recruiting a Junior Intelligence Analyst, Africa region, to join our Healix team in Esher. You will be part of the Healix Global Security Operation Centre based in Esher, UK, with satellite offices in Vancouver and Singapore.
Operating 24/7/365, our Global Security department is made up of security and crisis management specialists who are highly knowledgeable in the risks associated with global travel. As industry experts, we provide our clients with evaluations of security risks, advice on minimising those risks and guidance for building a safer and more secure environment for their staff.
Our Junior Intelligence Analysts support our Risk Intelligence Manager in ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality operational security services. The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities including:
Monitor a range of sources for information on global security developments and major travel disruption that has the potential to impact/be of interest to the Healix client base.
Take overall responsibility for Africa regional intelligence output.
Publish accurate, informative and actionable security alerts on developments that meet the internal thresholds for reporting.
Stay abreast of major regional developments and identify suitable topics for more complex reports which look at the security, political and operational risk environment.
Using our Tool for Intelligence Gap Analysis endeavour to improve the quality of both desktop and network intelligence sources for the Africa region. Schedule reviews of network with regional teammates.
Maintain a record of risk and evacuation ratings using the ‘Risk SPIDER’ and other in-house quantitative and qualitative tools.
Work closely alongside the security operations team and provide analytical input to security advice and assistance cases where required.
Identify those issues which constitute an out of the ordinary security incident or major deterioration, prompting an escalated operational posture. Upon identifying the incident, proactively inform the wider operations team and author alerts.
In a crisis or over the course of a protracted security issue you may be required to provide continuous updates to the wider operations platform. During this time the GTA is responsible for all intelligence output over the duration of the crisis and for taking the lead on post-incident reporting.
In addition to full training being provided for the role, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake a highly comprehensive Crisis and Security Risk Manager training programme, specifically designed to develop your security manager skills, competencies and undertake professional qualifications.
Please note that this is a shift-based role, including working weekends and public holidays, and the successful candidate will need to be able to commute to our offices in Esher on a regular basis.

About the role
Our requirements for a Junior Intelligence Analyst:
A degree or masters (or equivalent) in a related field, such as International Relations, Politics, Terrorism etc.
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of political and security issues in the Africa region.
Demonstrated knowledge of security operations, crisis management and logistics planning.
Experience of operating in an international context (postings, exchanges or employment within a foreign multinational company).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of working in small, close teams.
Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure, whilst following protocol with high attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
Excellent written and spoken English. Additional languages at a business level standard are an advantage.
