We are now recruiting for Joinery Apprentices to join our Apprenticeship Programme.

Our Joinery Apprenticeship details:

Production Manager

Responsible for:

Producing quality finishes to joinery items as per client specifications

Working hours:

Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm and Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.  (Day release to attend college will be instructed by the relevant college).

 Wage level:

 We offer paid apprenticeships and the starting salary is in line with minimum wage requirements (increasing annually).

Main Purpose of Job

  • To progress through to obtaining NVQ Level 3 in Joinery

  • To work within the joinery workshop within McCue

  • To work closely with and under the daily supervision of both your designated mentor and charge-hand.

About the role

KEY  TASKS

  •  To attend college and obtain NVQ Level 3 in Joinery.

  • To work with and provide support to joinery and other related trades people.

  • Be willing to learn.

  • Be able to understand the responsibility of both you and your employer in relation to Health and Safety.

  • To participate in all initiatives.

  • Ensure that housekeeping is up to standard at all times.

  • When required work may involve working on a variety of sites throughout Ireland and the UK Mainland once CSR cards are obtained.

  • To participate and  support all Company initiatives with compliance to procedures and requirements for ISO9001, 14001, 45001, FSC and Investors in People Standards.

  •  Any other duties conducive to the effective operation of the post which the Company deem to be within the post holder’s competence and operational requirements of the business may dictate that overtime may be required from time to time.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Must have applied for the relevant carpentry and joinery course at either Northern Regional College or Belfast Metropolitan College.
  • Obtain the required grades to secure a place on the carpentry and joinery course (preferably grade c or above in English and Maths)
