Your new role: To be responsible for the processing of weekly and monthly wages ensuring that employees are paid accurately and at the appropriate date. Completing accounts and administrative duties as required by manager to support departmental or company objectives, for example, supporting purchase ledger, credit card statements analysis, bank reconciliations, etc.

About the role

•Preparation and processing of weekly administration wages (70 staff), and monthly salaries (160 staff) based in NI, ROI and GB.

•Holiday Cover for the preparation and processing of weekly yard wages (>200 staff) based in NI.

•Ensuring wages are processed and paid accurately.

•Processing of starters and leavers.

•Calculating and processing deductions / payments for sickness, holiday, maternity and paternity pay.

•Calculating and processing of pay arrears and bonuses.

•Processing of Pension information, and submission of monthly reports to Pension Providers.

•Preparation and distribution of Payroll reports and payslips.

•Complete Year End Payroll Returns in a timely and accurate manner.

•Receive and manage Payroll queries, investigating any discrepancies and following up on queries in a timely and efficient manner. 

•Preparation and submission of Deduction from Earnings schedules and Charitable Donations.

•Keep up to date with both NI and ROI legislative changes.

•Preparation of annual P11d declarations and PSA submission.

•Ensure compliance with business processes and adherence to relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

•Maintain and update all relevant employee data within the payroll software in line with Data Protection protocols.

•Carry out any other accounts and administrative duties as required by manager to support departmental or company objectives, for example, supporting purchase ledger, credit card statements analysis, bank reconciliations, etc. 

•Provide holiday cover within the team as required.

•Act in a confidential and trustworthy manner at all times.

•Any other duties as required and as deemed within your competence.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s including English & Maths A – C.
  • Strong IT skills, using payroll software, and proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Trustworthy.

  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
  • Very well organised person.

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience calculating and processing weekly and/or monthly wages for more than 50 employees.

Desired criteria

  • CIPP Qualified (or BTEC Level 3 Payroll).
  • Accounting Technician Qualification (AAT/IATI).
  • Proven experience of processing wages for ROI employees.
  • Experience of using Sage Payroll and Sage Micro-pay.
  • Experience on processing shift pattern wages and associated manufacturing bonuses.
  • Good knowledge of statutory payments and legislation.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
  • 5+ years working experience calculating and processing weekly/and or monthly wages for more than 50 employees.
