About the role

•Provide administrative support to the H&S and compliance team, including data entry, administration assistance with risk assessments, SSOW administration and other safety/environmental administration.

•Maintain and support the company’s H&S systems and help ensure best safety practices are applied to the policies, procedures and documentation.

•Help prepare HSE induction paperwork for new starts. 

•To provide support with and ensure the timely and accurate data entry of all H&S information onto the relevant H&S IMS system.

•Assist in ensuring that all accidents and near miss incidents are fully documented.

•Assist in the implementation of any improvements, recommendations or changes with regards H&S practices, policies or procedures. 

•Assist the H&S Officer in ensuring compliance with H&S processes and adherence to relevant legislation, regulatory requirements.

•Monitor training certification expiry dates and assist in booking training courses.

•General office administration including filing and maintaining up to date H&S records.

•Carry out any other administrative duties as required by your manager to support departmental or company objectives. 

•Act in a confidential and trustworthy manner at all times.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • 5 GCSE’s including English & Maths A – C.
  • Minimum 1 year administration experience.
  • Strong MS Office experience.
  • Trustworthy.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
  • Very well organised person.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal Skills.
  • Team player.

Desired criteria

  • A-levels.
  • NEBOSH general certificate
  • A health and safety related qualification.
  • Previous administrative experience in compliance / health and safety.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing/ construction sector.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
