Kiddiwinkles is actively recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join our Company.This is a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly team and share our passion in providing high quality care within our Kiddiwinkles Care & Learning Framework.


 


The ideal candidate:







    • Must have a minimum Level 5 Childcare or equivalent.



 




    • Minimum two years paid experience working with children.



 




    • Be able to lead, support and guide staff members within the centre.



 




    • Connect with the children and possess a caring, respectul and positive attitude towards them.



 




    • Good knowledge of child development (as we are a child led facility).



 




    • Be able to form excellent relationships with both children and their parents.

About the role

Main purpose of job.

  • To work as a member of the Kiddiwinkles Team to ensure that all children attending the setting aged 6 weeks to 12 years, receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.
  • To follow and implement Kiddiwinkles framework and any other educational influences which may be implemented to increase the learning experiences for the children in our care.
  • To work in partnership with children and their families to enable all children to fully access opportunities that will improve their emotional health, safety, participation, play, learning and economic well-being.
  • Responsible in assisting the manager in the daily running of Kiddiwinkles Care & Learning Centre whilst adhering to the policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Children Act and Health & Safety Legislation, all within the requirements and guidelines laid down by Social Services.
  • Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Minimum of two years paid experience working with children.
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Childcare, Leadership & Management or willing to enrol and complete QCF Level 5 in Childcare, Leadership & Management
  • Level 3 in Childcare
  • A sound knowledge of child development for children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years
  • An understanding of observation & planning to support children’s learning and development
  • Knowledge of particular health & safety issues relevant to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies
  • A willingness to undertake further relevant training including some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Desired criteria

  • 1 years experience of working as deputy manager or room supervisor
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • First Aid, Child Protection & Food Hygiene
  • A knowledge of research related to childcare & education

Kiddiwinkles was founded in 2003 by Jill - who still leads the business today. Jill wanted to open a daycare that would demand the standards of childcare that she would want for her own children; they started their own setting with that in mind, it opened in September 2003. Kiddiwinkles offer a practical child-centred approach where children are respected as individuals and encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace. The needs of the individual child are paramount in all our childcare facilities. Kiddiwinkles have six facilities in the Mid ulster area, 4 Childcare Centres and 1 DENI Registered Playgroup. We care for children from 6 wks old to 12 years old.
