Assistant Director (Operations)
A demanding position, assisting and directing all contracted activities, Directing the senior management team to ensure contract governance at all levels.
About the role
- Delivery of major contracts and their key performance indicators as required by all clients
- Management of client relationship & service delivery.
- Lead service delivery across all NI contracts ensuring appropriate methods are used in conjunction with maximum operational efficiency
- Support all senior and middle management teams in effective delivery of contracts
- Lead manage and direct all senior and middle management
- Playing a leading role in recruitment, training, and development of senior and middle management team
- Ensure effective reporting is delivered weekly to the Board of Directors
- Review the appropriate organisational structure to deliver services in line with the business priorities and service obligations.
- Ensure corporate and contractual governance.
- Financial budgetary and full P&L understating across all contracts
- Assist operationally in strategic planning for future contracts
- Chair and attend monthly contract meetings and provide minutes / reports to Directors.
- Prepare a root cause analysis on risk incidents and action plan management
Adhoc leadership of project teams - Prepare detailed quarterly reports for the board and present same
What you will need
Required criteria
- 10 years’ senior management experience in construction industry
- Extensive Management experience at senior level
- Knowledge of Contracts both NEC and with NHF being desirable
- Recognised Construction Qualification (BSc/HNC/HND)
- Possess an understanding of construction processes & methodology
- Understand construction measurement principles
- Strong IT skills (Excel/Word/Outlook)
- Be capable of working on own initiative
- Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Can work and lead a senior team
- Be a good team player
- Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks
- Participate in overtime when required (including weekends)
- Have ability to take on new skills
- Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques
