Operations Manager

General Manager

Main function:

The Operations Manager will manage the day-to-day running of all food and beverage, leisure, front of house and banqueting activity and will coordinate with all other department managers to ensure the highest level of customer service.  They will promote a cost conscious culture throughout the organisation, while continuously enhancing all services offered through innovative customer services. 

This role will require close collaboration with the Gallen Hospitality Senior Management Team to ensure the best possible standards of customer services and highest revenue at all times.

About the role

  • Responsible for developing operational plans to meet the needs of strategic objectives and income targets.

  • Set and monitor service standards across all areas of operations.

  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are in place and up-to-date in each department.   

  • Contribute to the development of new customer service lines.

  • Ensure that all managers are delivering a high standard of customer service at all times.

  • Act as first point of contact in executing the customer satisfaction and complaints procedures, responsible for scoping the investigation and escalation where necessary. 

  • Retain responsibility and accountability for the Hotel day to day operations.

  • Embed a cost conscious culture in the Hotel by controlling, reviewing and reporting on KPIs across the organisation.

  • Monitor revenue, purchasing costs, departmental budgets and evaluation against KPIs.

  • Oversee the preparation of weekly management reports.

  • Development and implementation of a customer engagement strategy.

  • Take full responsibility for the general appearance of the premises to include; cleanliness, layout, lighting, music, heating, external premises.  

  • Ensure that all aspects of the Hotel’s operation are in accordance with the prevailing statutory regulations, particularly in relation to licensing, employment law and health and safety.

  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with internal & external stakeholders to ensure that revenue trends and opportunities are maximised, as well as to update on operational activity.

  • 3 Years' Experience as an Operations Manager
  • Demonstrable Excellent Communication Skills
  • Demonstrable Experience Leading a Multi-Functional Team
  • Demonstrable Strong Leadership Acumen
  • Ability to Design and Implement an Operations Management Strategy
  • Demonstrable Outstanding Organisational Skills

Desired criteria

  • Experience in Financial Budgeting and Forecasting
  • 3 Years' Experience as an Operations Manager in the Hotel / Tourism Sector
