About the role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced SDET to join our team to help develop automation solutions for testing. You will have the opportunity to enter a green field environment and put your mark on creating solutions that are:

The SDET, will be primarily responsible for developing and executing web and api automated tests for Frontline Insurance core applications (Guidewire Insurance Suite) policy center. This role will also encompass the development and execution of integration and regression testing needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing effective and efficient Web UI automated tests.

  • Work closely with QA Analyst to ensure test cases can be automated and collaborate with them as needed.

  • Learn and master Guidewire insurance suite application to be able to effectively automate functional tests.

  • Plan, develop, and execute Web UI functional and end-to-end tests of new releases.

  • Maintain, support and enhance automation framework and automated test cases.

  • Work closely with developers to verify effectiveness and robustness of automated tests.

  • Work in a fast paced, agile team. Work under time constraints to meet project deadlines.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years experience in a similar position

  • Experience in Web UI automation framework i.e. Selenium.

  • Proficient in a modern programming language i.e. Java, JavaScript, Python.

  • Experience in working with QA Analysts to create test cases that can be automated.

  • Knowledge of Web UI automation best practices.

  • Ability to recognize risks and errors in an application.

  • Ability to keep current with the latest advances in test automation.

  • Knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, and industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Scrum/Agile development.

  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritize successfully and adapt to quickly changing goals and priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate testing issues with internal development team members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to perform with minimal supervision while working in a diverse team.

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Functional Guidewire Policy Centre experience.

  • Insurance/Financial domain experience preferred but not required.

  • Java 8, TestNG, and RestAssured experience a plus.

  • Experience in automated API testing including SOAP and REST Web Services.
