Minibus Driver

Altogether Care are looking for a minibus driver to assist our three care homes the role is based from our Weymouth Care Home. We are looking for an enthusiastic, cheerful, and dependable part-time minibus driver to assist care staff to take our residents on outings and sightseeing drives.

This role will including moving and handling plus ensuring clients are secured for transport and full training will be given.

The hours are 16.25 hours per week split as below:

Monday to Friday: 1 pm – 4.15pm (3 hrs + 15 minutes daily)

About the role

The position requires that you:

  • Remain with the staff and mini bus during the contracted hours,

  • Assist up to 4 residents in wheelchairs, getting on and off the minibus using the platform lift, and securing chairs into the bus floor

  • Basic checking of the van prior to each outing

Base is Weymouth, you will also be driving for people who live at our homes in Yeovil and Dorchester different days per week, taking residents on sightseeing tours or outings

Rate of pay £10.50

You are required to have:

  • A clean driver’s license.

  • Need to be 21 or over (For Insurance Purposes

  • You must also have been driving for more than two years

  • Enhanced DBS will be required. (Provided by Altogether Care)

  • Previous experience not required, but would be beneficial.

The role is a permanent contract of 16.25 hours per week.

  • Held a Full UK driving license for more than 1 year
  • Be able to undertake a DBS

Desired criteria

  • Been Driving for 2 years
  • Experience working with vulnerable people
