THE ROLE

We seek a passionate DevOps engineer to join our team to help build an innovative platform. You will have the opportunity to enter a green field environment and put your mark on creating solutions that are:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting production level insurance products 

  • Production level defect analysis, triage and resolution from a Jira board 

  • Codifying and maintaining the AWS target landscape, using infrastructure as code 

  • Designing, coding and implementing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines to deliver software artefacts to the target landscape 

  • Defining and maintaining Kubernetes services, deployments and resources via Kubernetes YAML and Helm 

  • Operational monitoring and alerting of non-production and production stacks – via cloud-native tooling, Prometheus & Grafana 

  • Participating in design, code and implementation reviews and continual improvement of each 

  • Collaborating with development, data-science, and business teams to ensure excellent product delivery and customer satisfaction  

  • Supporting team members with technical challenges 

  • Contributing ideas to the technical design of solutions 

  • Keeping up to date on current technical trends  

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. 3+ years of experience in a DevOps role 

  2. Proficiency with DevOps tooling – with some of the below beneficial 

AWS architecture  

AWS cloud native monitoring and alerting toolsets

Prometheus & Grafana Monitoring & Alerting

Jenkins build and deployment pipelines 

  1. Familiarity with database technologies beneficial (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB) 

  2. Solid understanding of code versioning tools like Git 

  3. Experience working with Agile methodologies 

  4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  5. Excellent writing and communication skills 

  6. Comfortable working across the entire technology stack 

  7. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoys learning new tools, languages, and workflows 

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BSc/MSc - Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent 

  • Experience working within the Guidewire stack is desirable 

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry would be beneficial but not required
