Founded in 2005, firmus energy is responsible for the construction and operation of the natural gas network outside Greater Belfast (from L’Derry to Ballymena and from Antrim to Newry), providing safe, cheaper, practical and environmentally-friendly natural gas to homes and businesses. We supply over 50,000 customers across our licensed area, and also compete in the natural gas market in Greater Belfast, where we supply over 50,000 customers. We love protecting the environment. We have displaced over 1 million tonnes in carbon emissions. That’s the same as taking 40,000 cars off the road. We have been building out our natural gas network since 2006 and in that time have laid approximately 1,700km of gas mains to bring a safe, affordable home heating alternative. That’s like travelling from our Antrim offices to Frankfurt as the crow flies. Important information for candidates: firmus energy use reserve lists for positions where more than one candidate is deemed suitable for a position.
