We are Yellow Door Deli

A family Deli and Catering business, with an emphasis on great local produce

Our Culture

The Yellow Door began life as a fine dining restaurant in Gilford in 1992. Due to demand for a more informal food offering, the Yellow Door Deli opened in Portadown in 1997. The restaurant was later sold and the deli and bakery business expanded, giving rise to other delis and a busy outside catering business. We have a great team, and lots of family! Simon Dougan runs the deli in Portadown, and the outside catering business. Andrew opened the delis in Belfast and Lisburn and runs the catering at Ulster Rugby and Fuelled by Yellow Door at Catalyst. Gary runs the wholesale side of the business supplying discerning restaurants all over Ireland with daily deliveries of fresh bread and patisserie. Jilly manages the Yellow Door kitchen garden and other growing projects at our outlets. It gets a bit manic at times but the one thing that unites everyone is a passion for fabulous, locally produced food, and a desire to get the very best out of it.
We LOVE good food, and surround ourselves with a team who feel the same way. Our approach to food is fresh, innovative and knowledgeable. For us producing great food is not just a job, it’s a way of life. We believe the only way to ensure the very highest standard is to produce all of the food ourselves. We employ bakers to make our own bread, highly skilled patisserie chefs to produce all our ice cream, cakes and desserts and a team of professional chefs to prepare all of our savoury food. We love to cure, brine, pickle and smoke so that our food offering is always bespoke. Whenever possible we use free range, organic and quality assured produce, craft brewers, native beef breeds and artisan producers. We have taken our sustainable sourcing policy a step further and grow most of our own herbs, salad leaves, edible flowers and micro leaves. We have developed our own orchard and vegetable garden and even keep our own bees.
