Our Culture

Kestrel Foods Ltd is locally owned and managed by joint founder Michael Hall, EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist 2014. The business was established in 1996 and has had over 21 successful years in business. Headquartered in Portadown, the company has grown significantly in size since its inception and has experienced tremendous success across all of its brands. Posting results showing sales growth of more than 70% since 2012, it seeks to continue this positive trajectory and is confident that they will reach sales of £20m by 2020. 60% of their own branded produce is supplied to Retail, Foodservice, e-commerce and Travel Retail, 40% is retailer private label. The multi-award winning brand portfolio is now made up of over 150 unique flavour combinations and is available in countries worldwide including Russia, Hong Kong, Norway and the Middle East.
Kestrel Foods believe an active lifestyle and healthy snacking go together like peanuts and raisins. They like to encourage people from all walks of life to get involved by sponsoring sporting events in the local community. The company is also striving to reduce their environmental footprint. They scrutinise their fruit, nuts and nibbles to ensure that the soya and palm oil sometimes used by their suppliers is from a sustainable source, and where it is not, influence them to make a change for the better. In 2018, they launched their #nutsaboutswimming campaign, which is all about encouraging people to incorporate swimming into part of a healthy lifestyle. The company has supported various charities over the years and everyone gets involved! Recently, they took part in the #wearitpink day for the Breast Cancer Now charity (pictured below) and all staff joined in the ‘Great Pink Bake Off’ on site.
