We currently have Operating Centres across Northern Ireland and Ireland, with further plans for expansion. McCulla has over 300 employees working across our Transport, Warehousing, Customs and Green Bioenergy Operations. There is an ever-growing modern fleet consisting of over 120 vehicles and 200 trailers operating our just in time service with environmental sustainability at the forefront of everything we do and making us unique in the market for our customers.
The Role:
As General Manager across Warehouse Operations & Facilities you will play a key role in shaping the future of the McCulla Warehousing element of the business, as we continue to maximise the current operations, expand for future growth and meet the needs of our customers.
Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team and across 3 sites (Lisburn, Mallusk & Dublin) you will have a role in influencing operational and strategic decisions as part of our vision. Across the sites you will be responsible for the range of services we offer to our customers inclusive of supermarket pick & distribution activities through to blasting freezing and bulk storage.

About the role
Duties will include:
You will be responsible for overseeing the Warehousing Operations & Facilities across 3 sites. This involves ensuring that all daily operations are carried out in an efficient and effective manner to meet our customer needs.
Leading, managing and motivating the Warehousing Teams to deliver on the strategic and operational objectives.
You will be involved in operational design, solutions and improvements to ensure all processes are followed and correctly managed, supportive of business change.
Maintaining and creating a positive work environment across each site, ensuring KPI targets are achieved by the teams.
You will be the point of escalation and audit to ensure a clean and safe working environment within the warehouse & coldstores across each site relevant to legislation and good working practices.
Ensuring all inventory, orders and stock management processes are completed to standard across the sites.
The control and management of the departmental budget.
You will be the point of escalation for all people matters ranging from colleague engagement, absence management, employee relations and disciplinary and grievance.
Ensure labour is proactively managed to ensure capacity is available to meet the customer needs.
Manage the overall performance, linked to KPI’s to ensure activity is recorded and measured to optimise efficiencies across the department.
Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered across the department internally and externally.
Across the facilities you will be responsible for utility management, ensuring site security, R&M, procurement, dealing with external tenants, insurance matters and escalation, various project management & planning, and being deemed the Responsible Person.
Criteria:
You will be an experienced General Manager across Warehousing Operations with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Logistics & Supply Chain Operations.
You will have had exposure and experience of facilities management.
Experience of working in a high-volume fast-moving environment.
Highly competent and knowledgeable within IT & Systems relevant to the industry sector.
Effective management and leadership skills though others.
Team player with a proven track record of developing and upskilling others.
Able to remain calm under pressure.
Adaptable and Flexible.
Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Has experience with working alongside customers.
Prepared to travel across the 3 x sites on a weekly basis.
