Group Procurement Officer

Due to the expansion of the Conway Group, we are seeking to recruit a Group Procurement Officer to strengthen our existing team based at the head office in Magherafelt.

You will enjoy a varied role and will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics operations.

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual with a strong background in procurement:

Main Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for demand and shortfall planning, as well as communications.

  • Establish procurement processes.

  • Responsible for systems maintenance and reporting.

  • Procure materials/services promptly, optimising the cost with the required quality.

  • Review and process purchase orders for suppliers in relation to works Orders.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers, securing good procurement deals.

  • Negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers, leverage demand profiles and act as a “line of defence” against margin erosion.

  • Schedule deliveries and ensure OTDIF (on-time delivery in full).

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrate a proactive and optimistic attitude, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration within a team.

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong adherence to quality assurance and good document management skills

  • Display the ability to organise and prioritise tasks and responsibilities efficiently.

  • The ability to work in a team and on own initiative, including working under pressure and delivering high-quality outputs to time and cost constraints.

  • Must have a full clean UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Degree or similar qualification beneficial.

  • Relevant experience gained in a similar industry and role.
